The island has started a little buzzing sound this morning. It's just the murmur of the word "hurricane" under people's breath.
Most locals are dismissing it, not even giving it a second thought. They are seen as more of a nuisance than anything. Like a bad friend swinging by, drinking all your beer, throwing a party in your yard, and then skipping town before sunrise as to avoid cleaning up.
Still, JoEll is off at the store stocking up on some needed supplies, filling the gas cans and the car. Hopefully it's just a little tropical storm that's going to get tore up over Cuba and then give us a healthy dose of rain. Maybe give some of us a day off on Monday to hang out and watch it from the inside.
I'll keep everyone up to date from down here. Don't get roped into the hype that I am sure is going to build up over the next day on the Weather Channel. Tropical Storms, Cat Ones and Even Cat Twos are just nasty storms. Stay inside and don't mess with them and you will be fine. Anything stronger and we'll have a little bumpier rode on our hands but we'll be ok.
As I've said, a few prayers, raised glasses, or good wishes our direction is never a bad thing.
