Dr. Teeth ....

Toothaches are hell. At least that is what I had been told.

I knew that any kind of mouth pain really can ruin your day. I've had canker sores and stuff, but had been blessed not having any toothaches .... until this last week.

I'm terrified of Dentists, fear of the unknown and syringes. All of these things can be found in your local dentist's office. This would account for why I haven't been to a dentist in an embarrassingly long time. I hoped that the toothache would just go away, but instead it got worse. Taking a big sip of cold water would result in a pain like an icepick being drilled through the tooth and directly into the brain.

The time had come. I had to suck it up and go in.

After chatting with a good number of people, they all recommended Claude Harris, DDS saying that he was amazing. I sucked up enough courage to walk in and see when I could get in. I was hoping it would be later in the week. Due to a "No Show" he was able to take me right away. I had originally planned to take a zanex or something to take a bit of the edge off (that's the stuff I use to fly) but I just strolled in there, white knuckled the chair, and hoped for the best.

I can't even begin to tell you how good this guy was. Came in smiling. Put me at ease right away. The dentistry itself has taken leaps and bounds in the last few years. I think, when I was a child, my fillings were put in with a jack hammer and shovel. Now it's a little press, a flickering light and all is done. Hot Shit, that was easy.

On another note. I have my inlaws in town for 10 days (!!!!). I'm about halfway through the ordeal and all is well. Having anyone in town for that amount of time is just rough. I normally kick friends out after about 5 days. And when you ask what kind of activities they would like to do and the answer is "spend time with you". Well, that's just a load of no help.

I like it when people come in and say "I'd like to go out on a boat a few times, maybe a sunset sail and some snorkeling, fishing, museums, good food, something ANYTHING!".

That's not really fair, her dad wanted to go fishing and I set that up. But that's one day. WE HAVE 9 LEFT!

I have a headache.

IN-laws??? When did you get hitched? Or is that just a euphanism? (Wait, was that spelled right?)
And I can totally relate about Dentists. If your Dentist uses a laser instead of a drill I might have to schedule all my work for the keys. Just had a root canal. Try taking a Flexiril next time, that's what I used.
