So last night it felt like we had our first real audience. The subscribers are the folks who come to see the "normal shows" that the Red Barn Does. This includes nice little comfortable plays and singy dancy evenings like Musical Reviews.
Bat Boy throws those folks for a loop. Hell, Bat Boy throws everyone for a loop!
It's nice to hear the audience take the journey with you. The Gasps, the laughs, and even the "Oh tell me they aren't going to .... oh they did". All of that feeds right back into us. I've never been one for quiet houses. It's scary when you don't hear anything. Sometimes you can see them through the glare of the lights. You can tell that they are listening, and interested. I just like those vocal people to be out there in the house (yeah, I'm talking to you, Geri Louise!).
This show grows on you. It's almost something you need to see more than once.
I'm looking forward to finishing up this week. On Sunday I'll get a chance to actually kick back and relax. No Show, No Work.
But as for tonight, I'm going to barrel into these shows head first. Give it my all and go out on a high note. Come out and see us. It'll be fun.

Wait, I was there on Tuesday, that wasn't a real audience?
It was wonderful, I loved, loved, loved it!!!!I laughed, hard. So did the couple on my left, from Hamburg (so no language barrier problems), and the couple on my right, newlyweds from Jacksonville. I am not blue haired, but I did just get this new blonde color, which jars me every time I look at myself. You told me not to come to opening night, so I waited till the second night, and never got to meet you. Next time... I had a bat-cocktail served by a lovely woman dressed in Bat attire. And when I left, I fell off my bike (who invented that silly bike-rack anyway?)just like a good buzzed KW tourist should.
