Last night we opened BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL in Key West.
It's a hell of a ride. It was interesting to see how real live people actually respond to this thing. It's not normal by any stretch of the imagination.
Just minor flubs on opening night. Nothing that a week of runs won't iron right out.
There is nothing like that feeling though. Taking a group of people on a journey. Telling a story. There is just something "classic" about it. I hope that we attract a young group of people to this show. I was amazed last year, during Rocky Horror, How many people came out who had never even seen a show done live outside of school plays. Hopefully Bat Boy will be just strange enough to draw some people in.
That said, maybe we'll just spend the run scaring the shit out of the "blue hairs".
Come and see it. Have a few drinks, and come in with an open mind. Whatever you are expecting, you're probably wrong. Enjoy That!
