Thought we dodged the bullet, I was wrong ...

Today I know more people who have lost their homes than I ever thought I would.

The area around my house ad where I work is ok. The basic "near miss" from a hurricane mess, the power even came back on the next day which shocked the shit out of everyone.

A few days ago, I went over to my boss' house and saw what happened in those neighborhoods. People were bringing everything out onto the street and drying it out or just throwing it away. Mattresses, Furniture, Clothes, ... everything.

It was heartbreaking.

Everyone's cars are screwed.

I owe about $8000 is refunds from just one of my guesthouses.

..... but then you just sit back and say to yourself.

All of this damage and no one is dead.

We'll rebuild quickly. Old Town is back up and running already I tested a few of the bars last night personally.

Some of my friends who have lived here all their lives said that was the worst one they could ever remember going through. What we got hit with was the equivalant of a direct hit by a 1 or 2.... I can't even imagine a 5.

Thanks for all the good wishes and the good thoughts. Now get your butts down here and spend some money in Key West!

Thanks for letting your blog readers know you are okay. I have been reading The Citizen, online, and it seems this has been the worst anyone can remember.

Keep writing and hang in.
